Students visit the library monthly with their Reading and Research classes! Students can also check out books during this time.
We love having authors visit the school and share with the students. Students learn about the writing process, how to get published and can ask any questions they like. Students can also get books signed by the author!
Students can come to the library during the school day to check out books. Students may ask to visit the library during their lunch or come down on a pass from their teacher anytime. Books can be returned at any time by placing them in the book drop right outside the library.
Students put their learning skills and subject knowledge to work as they solve riddles and attempt to BreakOut from the Media Center!
Battle of the Books team members pledge to read at least 3 of this year's Sunshine State Reader Books. Students will answer questions about the books and work to earn their place on the competitive team. This team will then compete against other middle schools to see who knows the SSYRA books the most!
The Media Center offers several clubs during the school year that meet monthly during lunches. Clubs include 3D Printing, Young Writer's Club, Book Clubs and more!
SCMS students log their reading minutes every day to compete in Beanstack challenges! Students can win prizes from the school for logging their minutes as well as certificates and prizes from the school district. Let's keep SCMS at the top of the Middle School Beanstack Leaderboard!
